The annual TABI CARTA Awards is an organization recognizing excellence in art, writing and artistic development within the field of Tarot and Oracle cards and books.
Vespertine Tarot brings classic meanings of the cards and weaves them into new artistic themes to convey the deep meaning amidst the backdrop of lunar energies, Pagan Gods and Goddesses and vespertine animals.
Following the Rider/Waite/Smith system of reading; with its 78 cards; Major and Minor Arcana, including The Courts, each card featuring a vespertine animal. Vespertine Tarot also includes two additional cards with a unique meaning.

A diverse allotment of creatures to be found amongst the cards, with each suit’s representing element being a determinant for the kind of animal to garnish the card.
Each animal featured in the cards are known to be most active between dusk and dawn.
Swords suit= Air element: animals associated with the sky and communication
Wands suit= Fire element: animals associated with exuberance, aggression or predatory behaviour.
Cups suit= Water element: animals associated with bodies of water.
Pentacles suit= Earth element: land animals, or those that are prolific.
Minor Arcana with Full Moon Aspects
Vespertine Tarot takes every third Minor Arcana card and adds lunar energy to the meaning of the card. Each full moon we have annually is featured on one of the cards.

The Court Cards
In Vespertine Tarot, the names of the Court Cards follow the phases of the moon.
The Page is now The Maiden and is represented by the Waxing Moon.
The Knight is now The Mother and is represented by the Full Moon.
The Queen is now The Crone and is represented by the Waning Moon.
The King is now The Sage and is represented by the Dark Moon.
The Major Arcana
Vespertine Tarot’s Major Arcana are made up of fresh images alongside traditional meanings. Each card has a has a vespertine animal embodiment to it with other symbolic characteristics offered as human or anthropomorphic form.

Vespertine Tarot is a standard sized 80 card deck (78 traditional with two extra cards).
Printed on 350gsm, white-core cardstock with a semi-gloss finish. The deck’s sides are finished with a blue foil. Vespertine Tarot comes with a 100+ page guidebook with black and white images and card meanings. All encased in a premium magnetic closure box.
